Foundations Matter – Building on Christ
Every building needs a strong foundation, and our lives are no different. In Luke 14:29, Jesus warns about the dangers of starting a project without the resources to finish it. He highlights the importance of having a strong foundation to build upon.
Why Foundations Matter
A poor foundation leads to an unstable structure. In the same way, a life built on anything other than Christ is bound to crumble under pressure. Jesus is the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), and everything we build should be aligned with Him.
Prioritising Jesus in Everyday Life
Family Life – Is Jesus central in your home? Do you pray together, discuss scripture, and prioritise spiritual growth?
Career and Work Ethic – Are you honouring God in your workplace, acting with integrity and diligence?
Financial Priorities – Is giving to God’s work a top priority, even before other pressing needs?
Building for the Long Haul
To ensure we don’t build in vain, we must:
Seek God First: Matthew 6:33 reminds us to prioritise God’s kingdom.
Be Intentional: Plan how to incorporate faith into daily routines.
Trust in the Process: Spiritual growth takes time, but with Jesus as our foundation, we can build a life that endures.
What are you building on? Make sure your foundation is strong in Christ.
