A New Year, A New Start: God’s Canvas for 2025
As the clock turns to 2025, there’s a sense of anticipation in the air. The new year stretches out like a blank canvas, waiting for us to paint our lives anew. Whether we approach this year with excitement, trepidation, or even indifference, God invites us to embrace His plans with open hearts.
Reflecting on 2024, we see a mix of joy and challenges, blessings, and lessons learned. The turning of the year is a divine opportunity to pause, review, and reset. As my family did on New Year’s Eve – revisiting the highlights of the year, praying together, and planning ahead – we’re reminded of the importance of reflection and consecration.
As a church, we’re stepping into this with our 21 days of prayer and consecration. It’s a time to seek God’s heart for our lives and community in 2025. During a recent reading of Amos 9:11-15, I was struck by three divine promises for us: restoration, planting, and envisioning. These themes form a roadmap for the year ahead.
God’s plans are never static. They’re filled with hope and purpose. He doesn’t just desire for us to make resolutions or create goals. He desires to restore us, plant us in fertile soil, and give us visions beyond what we could imagine.
In this series of blogs, we’ll explore each of these themes: how God wants to restore our brokenness, plant seeds of abundance, and envision dreams that outstretch our capacities. Join me in reflecting on the incredible things God has for us in 2025. Let’s start this journey with hearts open to His leading and hands ready to work for His glory.
